Good Samaritan United Methodist Church Hosts Two Summer Vacation Bible Camps

Good Samaritan in Edina MN will host 2 VBS programs around the Twin Cities this summer

Edina, United States – June 25, 2026 / Good Samaritan Edina /

EDINA, MNGood Samaritan United Methodist Church is offering two Vacation Bible Camp programs this summer for children in the Edina area and surrounding Twin Cities communities, including a first-come, first-served traditional camp this week and a sensory-friendly adaptive program in August designed specifically for children in its autism ministry.

Snowball Mountain Challenge VBC – June 15-18

The traditional Vacation Bible Camp, “Snowball Mountain Challenge,” runs June 15-18 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Good Samaritan UMC, 5730 Grove Street, Edina. The camp is offered in partnership with Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Children take on the role of Challengers navigating a winter sports adventure guided by Ollie the Arctic Seal, a friendly mascot who leads daily lessons. Each day, campers explore stories of courage and hope grounded in Philippians 4:13, discovering how faith builds resilience. The week includes frosty games, hands-on activities, and music designed to help kids connect what they learn to everyday life. Registration is open at goodsamaritanedina.mycokesburyvbs.com.

Sensory-Friendly Vacation Bible Camp – August 3-8

For families of children with autism or sensory processing needs, Good Samaritan UMC is partnering with Eden Prairie UMC to offer an adaptive Snowball Mountain Challenge camp August 3-8 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Eden Prairie UMC. The program features a predictable daily schedule, designated quiet zones for overstimulation, and a high volunteer-to-camper ratio to ensure every child has a safe and joyful experience. Campers explore the same core themes of bravery, generosity, and hope, with every element designed to prioritize comfort alongside fun. Registration is available at prairiechurch.org/adaptive-bible-camp-2026.

“What we love about Vacation Bible Camp is that it meets every child where they are, whether that’s on a snowball mountain adventure or in a calm, structured space where they know exactly what to expect next,” said Jan Russell, Children’s Ministry Director at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church.

Volunteers are welcome and needed for both programs. For more information on either camp or to get involved, visit good.org/ministries/childrens-ministry or contact the church at office@good.org.
