New Analysis: WellSky® Scribe Solution Helps Home Health Clinicians See More Patients, Spend Less Time on After-Hours Documentation

WellSky, a leading health and community care technology company, today announced findings from a new analysis showing that home health clinicians using the WellSky Scribe AI-powered ambient documentation solution complete more visits, care for more patients, and spend significantly less time on after-hours documentation.

Part of the WellSky SkySense AI suite, the WellSky Scribe solution uses AI-powered ambient listening technology to capture and transcribe clinician-patient conversations, generating draft documentation for clinician review within the WellSky Home Health Intelligent Health Record. Clinicians review, edit, and finalize documentation before it becomes part of the patient record.

The analysis, conducted by WellSky, compares clinicians who use the WellSky Scribe solution to peers at the same agency who do not. Together, these findings underscore WellSky’s ability to help home-based care agencies scale operations, support clinician wellbeing, and deliver more care to more patients, without increasing headcount, within an environment where finding new staff continues to be a challenge.

Key findings include:

  • 8.6 more patients per clinician per month – Consistent users manage significantly more unique patients compared to non-users, helping agencies grow capacity without expanding staff.
  • 22% less time on after-hours documentation – Clinicians reclaim meaningful time outside of working hours, reducing burnout risk.

“At Unison, delivering exceptional care starts with supporting our clinicians,” said Stephanie Carpentier, CEO at Unison. “Burnout and documentation fatigue are driving people out of this industry, and we knew we had a responsibility to act. Our goal with WellSky SkySense AI was simple: give clinicians time and attention back. What we didn’t anticipate was how quickly it became something they couldn’t imagine working without. When your staff says, ‘Don’t take our AI away,’ you know you’ve found something real. That kind of enthusiasm drives retention, and retention drives quality care. WellSky has been a true partner in helping us build an agency where great clinicians want to stay.”

The WellSky SkySense AI suite is now included for WellSky Home Health EHR clients at no additional cost. Upon enrollment, agencies gain access to WellSky Scribe for ambient documentation, WellSky Extract for AI-powered medication reconciliation, and the WellSky Intelligent Language Assistant (WILA), a conversational voice assistant that guides clinicians through documentation questions not captured during the visit. The WellSky SkySense AI suite is integrated into the new WellSky Point of Care app, delivering AI-powered, mobile-optimized access to the complete patient record.

“Two of the biggest pressures in home health, adding scale and improving clinician satisfaction, have long pulled in opposite directions,” said Bill Miller, WellSky chairman and CEO. “What we hear from agencies using the WellSky Scribe solution is that they are making real progress on both at the same time, caring for more patients without requiring clinicians to do more. That is how we build a more sustainable future for home-based care.”

WellSky has continued to expand the capabilities of the WellSky Scribe solution, which now supports all major home health visit types, including routine nurse visits, physical therapy visits, and all OASIS visits. Additional enhancements include offline functionality that enables clinicians to document care without internet connection, as well as expanded language support including Spanish, Mandarin, and other languages.

The WellSky Scribe solution was recently named the 2026 MedTech Breakthrough Award winner for “Home Healthcare Innovation,” recognizing the solution’s impact on clinician efficiency and patient care.
