FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 5, 2026
FLORHAM PARK, N.J., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Reworld®, a leader in sustainable waste solutions, celebrated World Cleanup Day in September by hosting cleanup events across the country. Employees partnered with local organizations, municipalities and volunteers to remove litter, clear invasive vegetation and support other beautification efforts, demonstrating the company’s commitment to being a good neighbor and helping build cleaner, more vibrant communities.

“Environmental stewardship extends beyond our facilities and into the communities we serve,” said Alyssa Wilds, Senior Director of Corporate & Community Relations at Reworld. “World Cleanup Day is an opportunity for our employees to work alongside local partners to improve public spaces, support cleaner communities and make a meaningful impact where we live and work.”
World Cleanup Day Activities
Across the U.S., Reworld employees joined local organizations and community groups to support World Cleanup Day efforts. Highlights included:
- Maryland and Virginia: Reworld employees in Derwood, Maryland; Dickerson, Maryland; and Alexandria, Virginia, joined the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail and local volunteers to remove trash and invasive vegetation at Gravelly Point, helping create a cleaner and safer outdoor space.
- Rahway, New Jersey: Employees in Rahway volunteered at Rahway Riverfront Park, helping clean and beautify the area.
- Newark, New Jersey: In Newark, Reworld employees removed litter from the access road leading to the facility. The team’s efforts here and throughout the streets of Newark, which resulted in 84 bags of garbage collected, earned them first place and the Gold Broom Award for the city’s Slam Dunk the Junk community cleanup event.
- Lee County, Florida: Employees teamed up with Keep Lee County Beautiful, a nonprofit dedicated to protecting and beautifying the local environment, to clean up a litter hotspot.
- Long Island, New York: Reworld employees from Ronkonkoma and West Babylon partnered with Save the Great South Bay for cleanup events, while teams from Westbury and East Northport took part in cleanups for their communities.
- Chester, Pennsylvania: The team in Chester cleaned up its adopted stretch of Highland Avenue, helping create a cleaner and safer public space for local residents.
Together, these efforts reflect the company’s commitment to being a good neighbor and helping create cleaner, more vibrant communities where Reworld employees live and work.
