Meteor Education Acquires AET Labs, Strengthening Career and Technical Education Offerings in New England

PR Newswire

GAINESVILLE, Fla., Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Meteor Education, a leading provider of innovative learning environments and education solutions, today announced it has acquired AET Labs, a Massachusetts-based provider of technical training equipment and lab solutions serving educational institutions across New England. The acquisition further strengthens Meteor Education’s growing Career and Technical Education (CTE) capabilities and expands its ability to support schools and institutions in preparing students for the evolving demands of the modern workforce. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 2005, AET Labs has built a strong reputation as a trusted partner to K12 schools, community colleges, and universities throughout New England. With expertise in engineering, industrial automation, advanced manufacturing, and automotive technology, AET Labs helps institutions develop technical learning environments that connect classroom instruction with real-world industry applications.

Meteor Education has steadily expanded its CTE platform, most notably through its 2024 acquisition of Advanced Technology Consultants (ATC). Together, AET Labs and ATC bring complementary expertise, established manufacturer relationships, and expanded technical training solutions that strengthen Meteor’s ability to support CTE programs nationwide. The platform works to help build and sustain high-quality CTE programs through better lab design, equipment selection, professional, development, and industry-aligned certifications.

“Expanding access to meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities is central to our mission of preparing future-ready students,” said Mitch Lewis, Executive Chair of Meteor Education. “AET Labs brings tremendous technical expertise and trusted relationships with educators throughout New England and advances our goal of developing a leading national CTE platform. By combining these strengths with our existing CTE capabilities, we can help more schools create innovative learning environments that equip students with the skills and confidence to succeed in today’s workforce.”

David Kempskie, Founder of AET Labs, will remain with the business and lead Meteor Education’s CTE work in New England going forward. AET Labs will continue to serve its customers with the same team and technical expertise, now supported by Meteor Education’s broader national platform and resources.

“Since founding AET Labs, our focus has been on connecting technical education with the real-world skills students need for successful careers,” said Kempskie. “Joining Meteor Education allows us to build on that commitment while expanding the solutions available to the institutions we serve.”

Meteor Education is continuing to expand the tools, training, and learning environments that help educators prepare students for the workforce. By broadening its CTE capabilities, the company is helping schools deliver hands-on learning experiences that build practical skills, industry-recognized credentials, and pathways to high-demand careers.
